Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements for governmental funds
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards
- Manage budget preparation and monitoring processes
- Conduct internal audits and financial reviews
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual examinations
- Implement financial controls and risk mitigation strategies
- Prepare reports for city council and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years governmental accounting experience
- CPA certification required
- Expertise in GASB standards and fund accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check
