Responsibilities
- Administer federal employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies
- Process enrollment changes, claims submissions, and eligibility verifications for 500+ employees
- Conduct benefits training sessions and create educational materials for staff
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Analyze benefits utilization data and recommend program improvements
- Manage vendor relationships with insurance carriers and service providers
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with federal/state benefits administration
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Workday)
- Strong knowledge of federal benefits regulations (FEGLI, TSP, FERS)
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage sensitive employee data with confidentiality
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
