Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure government web applications using modern technologies and frameworks.
- Analyze complex datasets to support policy decisions and improve the efficiency of public services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsâincluding policy makers and IT specialistsâto ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure data integrity and compliance with federal/state regulations.
- Provide technical support, documentation, and training to agency staff regarding new software systems.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation within the government sector.
- Perform regular system audits and security assessments to protect sensitive citizen information.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, data analysis, or systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with NC State government systems, procurement processes, or public sector compliance standards.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, data privacy laws, and compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain a government background check and required security clearance.
