Responsibilities
- Conduct Investigations: Investigate consumer complaints and verify claims related to business practices, licensing, and consumer protection laws.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards.
- Enforcement Actions: Prepare and issue citations, cease and desist orders, and fines to non-compliant entities.
- Public Outreach: Educate the public and business community on consumer rights and local regulations through workshops and presentations.
- Report Preparation: Compile detailed reports on investigation findings and submit them to senior management for review.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other city agencies and law enforcement to address systemic issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Administration, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in government, legal, or regulatory compliance is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Valid New York State driver's license required; fingerprinting and background check mandatory.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
