In this role, you will support critical municipal operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations while delivering high-quality service to Oakland residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing and verification of government applications, permits, and public records.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate databases for departmental reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service at the service counter and over the phone.
- Research and compile information on local government policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with senior staff to implement new administrative protocols.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, and meeting agendas with high attention to detail.
- Monitor inventory and supply levels for departmental equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screening (mandatory for government roles).
- Valid California driverβs license and reliable transportation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in administrative support or customer service is a plus.
