Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor pension plan compliance with federal/state regulations and City policies
- Process member contributions, benefit calculations, and retirement disbursements daily
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension records and financial transactions
- Develop and implement strategic pension investment reports for the Finance Committee
- Collaborate with HR and payroll departments to resolve complex benefit inquiries
- Prepare annual actuarial valuations and regulatory filings
- Train staff on pension administration systems and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field required
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience in government sector
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, CalPERS, and IRS regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Oracle HCM, PeopleSoft)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
