Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft strategic recommendations for state legislation
- Collaborate with legislative bodies, community stakeholders, and interagency task forces
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical methodologies
- Present findings to senior officials through executive briefings and public hearings
- Oversee implementation of new policies and measure impact through KPI tracking
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate cross-functional project teams
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government policy analysis or legislative affairs
- Expertise in quantitative analysis (SPSS, R, or SAS) and policy modeling
- Proven track record of successfully implementing policy initiatives
- Deep knowledge of New York State government operations and regulations
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public presentation skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
- Professional certification (e.g., CPPA) preferred
