Responsibilities
- Manage and Organize Records: Retrieve, file, and maintain physical and digital government documents in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Public Assistance: Provide courteous and accurate information to citizens, visitors, and staff regarding city services and procedures.
- Data Entry: Input, update, and verify data into various government databases and software systems with high precision.
- Record Keeping: Monitor filing systems to ensure all incoming and outgoing correspondence is properly documented and archived.
- Office Support: Answer multi-line phones, route calls, and handle mail distribution for the department.
- Compliance: Assist in ensuring that all office operations comply with federal, state, and municipal laws.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Records Management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or records management role, preferably within a government or municipal setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accuracy in data entry and record-keeping tasks.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work full-time hours.
