As a Records Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining the transparency and accessibility of city operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate physical and digital government records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Process incoming mail, applications, and public inquiries with a focus on speed and accuracy.
- Assist the public at the service counter and over the phone regarding city ordinances and departmental functions.
- Prepare and organize reports, memos, and correspondence for department heads.
- Perform data entry tasks and cross-reference documents to ensure data integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure filing system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework in public administration or business is preferred.
- Previous experience in an office environment, data entry, or government setting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and government databases.
