Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), ensuring 99.9% uptime for critical government services.
- Configure and troubleshoot servers, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure data security and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for internal staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Monitor system performance and security logs to identify potential threats and implement proactive solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade infrastructure and integrate new software solutions.
- Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery testing to safeguard citizen data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT systems administration, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (if required).
