Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations
- Develop persuasive grant proposals aligned with organizational mission and funder priorities
- Manage grant application process including budgets, narratives, and compliance documentation
- Build and maintain relationships with program officers and funding partners
- Prepare progress reports and financial documentation for existing funders
- Analyze funding trends and adapt strategies to maximize success rates
- Collaborate with program teams to gather impact data and success stories
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional grant writing experience with 80%+ success rate
- Portfolio demonstrating $1M+ secured funding in nonprofit/government sectors
- Expertise in federal (SAM.gov), state (Hawaii Grants), and private foundation applications
- Proficient in budget development for complex grant proposals
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of Hawaii-specific funding landscape and community needs
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, etc.)
