Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, private foundation, and corporate grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Develop and write persuasive grant proposals, reports, and supporting documents
- Manage grant pipeline including deadlines, compliance, and stewardship activities
- Collaborate with finance and program teams to prepare accurate budgets and narratives
- Maintain relationships with funders and represent organization at grant meetings
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations to leadership
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with 3+ in nonprofit sector
- Proven track record of securing $500k+ annually in competitive grants
- Expertise with federal (e.g., NOAA, EPA), state, and foundation applications
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with portfolio samples
- Proficiency in grant management systems (e.g., Salesforce NPSP)
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and impact measurement
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment
