Responsibilities
- Research & Strategy: Conduct comprehensive research on prospective funding sources, including private foundations, corporations, and government agencies to identify grant opportunities aligned with our mission.
- Proposal Development: Draft compelling, well-structured grant narratives, executive summaries, and budget narratives that strictly adhere to donor guidelines.
- Database Management: Maintain accurate records in our fundraising database (e.g., Salesforce/Blackbaud), tracking deadlines, submissions, and donor interactions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with program directors and finance teams to gather impact data and ensure proposals accurately reflect organizational needs and outcomes.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of required post-award reports and compliance documentation to ensure donor satisfaction.
- Training Compliance: Actively participate in weekly training workshops, case studies, and professional development sessions to refine technical writing skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience in a professional writing role is acceptable.
- Writing Proficiency: Exceptional writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences (e.g., academic, corporate, general public).
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple competing deadlines effectively.
- Research Skills: Ability to synthesize complex information and identify key themes for funding proposals.
