Your Role
As our Grant Writer, you will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and potential funders. You will translate complex program goals into persuasive narratives that resonate with donors, government agencies, and private foundations.
Responsibilities
- Research & Discovery: Conduct thorough research to identify and analyze federal, state, and private foundation funding opportunities aligned with our organizational goals.
- Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and narrative reports with a focus on compliance and impact.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with program directors and finance teams to gather accurate data, budgets, and program outcomes for proposal submissions.
- Deadline Management: Maintain a comprehensive calendar of deadlines and ensure all submissions are submitted on time and with high quality.
- Donor Reporting: Prepare and submit required progress reports and financial statements to current grantors to maintain compliance and foster long-term relationships.
- Database Management: Maintain and update our grant tracking database to monitor application status and funding cycles.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in grant writing, specifically within the non-profit or public sector.
- Track Record: Proven history of securing funding from at least three different types of funders (e.g., federal, state, private foundation).
- Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software (e.g., Foundant, Fluxx, or similar).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
