Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems (EHR) in compliance with VA and federal standards
- Ensure data integrity through quality control audits and system troubleshooting
- Implement HIPAA and FERPA privacy regulations for patient information security
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Lead system upgrades and migration projects for health information platforms
- Train staff on HIM policies and electronic documentation procedures
- Generate reports on health data analytics for operational decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (required)
- RHIA or RHIT credential from AHIMA (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years' experience with EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Expertise in HIPAA/FERPA compliance and healthcare data privacy
- Strong analytical skills with experience in health data analytics
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA background clearance
- U.S. citizenship (mandatory for federal positions)
