Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and data integrity
- Analyze veteran health data trends to support clinical decision-making and resource allocation
- Coordinate health information exchange between VA facilities and external providers
- Develop/implement health information management policies and procedures
- Train staff on health information systems and privacy protocols
- Conduct regular audits of health information systems for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimize health data workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years' experience in health information management
- Expertise in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
