Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt/concrete work
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, rollers, dump trucks) with proper safety protocols
- Install/repair underground utilities (water lines, storm drains) and street surfaces
- Maintain public facilities including parks, sidewalks, and traffic signals
- Adhere to OSHA/CAL-OSHA regulations and maintain clean, safe work zones
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of public works/construction experience
- Valid California Class B Driver's License (CDL preferred)
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and survey markers
- High school diploma or equivalent required
