Responsibilities
- Perform heavy construction tasks including excavation, grading, and concrete pouring
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, loaders, trenchers) with proper certification
- Conduct routine infrastructure inspections and maintenance on city roads and utilities
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and maintain a hazard-free work zone
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
- Document project progress and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Assist in emergency response during weather-related infrastructure crises
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of heavy construction or public works experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and surveying tools
- Strong problem-solving skills in field conditions
