Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure federal IT systems and networks
- Provide technical support for VA's electronic health records platform
- Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity protocols (FISMA, NIST)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration projects
- Develop disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies
- Conduct system performance monitoring and optimization
- Train staff on new IT systems and security protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT infrastructure management
- Active Security+ CE certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization
- Familiarity with VA's VistA system preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with ITIL framework and service management
