Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for government employees.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventative maintenance to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and document IT projects and system upgrades.
- Train staff on new software applications and best practices for IT security and usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in IT support, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows Server environments, and Active Directory administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel to various state facilities as needed.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are a plus.
