Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record systems (Cerner) to ensure HIPAA-compliant operations
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for VA network infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for critical IT assets
- Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate new healthcare technologies
- Monitor system performance using VA-approved monitoring tools like Splunk
- Document IT procedures and create user training materials
- Coordinate with federal IT vendors for system upgrades and maintenance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years experience with enterprise IT infrastructure in regulated environments
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and Active Directory
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Knowledge of FISMA compliance requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
