Job Summary
The IT Specialist will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and security of federal information systems. You will act as the primary point of contact for technical support and ensure all operations adhere to strict federal security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain federal IT networks, servers, and end-user devices.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with FISMA security standards, NIST guidelines, and agency policies.
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and system backups to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to implement ITIL frameworks and improve service delivery.
- Document technical procedures, maintain accurate system logs, and prepare incident reports.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a federal or government IT environment.
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols (TCP/IP), and VPNs.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.
