Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure web-based applications using Java, Python, and modern frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement agile development methodologies
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and optimization of existing systems
- Ensure all applications comply with federal security standards (FISMA, NIST)
- Document technical specifications and create user training materials
- Provide Tier-3 support for critical veteran service applications
- Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of professional application development experience
- Active security clearance eligibility (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in RESTful APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and DevOps practices
- Demonstrated experience with federal IT compliance frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
