Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols across VA networks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Monitor security incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, AlienVault)
- Develop incident response plans and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, and OMB directives
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system hardening
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Security+ CE certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- 2+ years of experience in network security or cybersecurity
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux system administration
- Knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure) frameworks
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
