Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Manage and maintain federal information systems in compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing to ensure system resilience.
- Respond to security incidents and execute incident response plans to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and patch management strategies.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of security configurations and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) or Secret security clearance (must be willing to obtain TS).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as Security+ (CE), CISSP, or GSEC preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal IT or cybersecurity roles.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and firewalls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines in a government environment.
