Role Overview:
The IT Specialist will provide Tier 2/3 technical support, manage network infrastructure, and ensure strict compliance with federal security standards (FISMA/FedRAMP). You will be the technical point of contact for resolving complex system issues and optimizing agency workflows.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for federal hardware and software systems, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Configure, maintain, and secure network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime and data integrity.
- Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and security patches to meet federal compliance requirements.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, user accounts, and access privileges according to security protocols.
- Collaborate with system engineers to implement cloud solutions and upgrade legacy systems.
- Document all technical procedures, incidents, and resolutions in the CMDB (Configuration Management Database).
- Train junior staff and end-users on new software tools and security best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or federal contracting.
- Active Top Secret clearance with favorable adjudication, or the ability to obtain one immediately.
- Strong proficiency in network administration, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to federal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
