Responsibilities
- Design and implement information security controls for VA systems
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel)
- Develop incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP standards
- Collaborate with IT teams on secure system architecture
- Document security policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years cybersecurity experience in federal/government sector
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux systems and network security
- Familiarity with FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53 controls
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with security automation tools
