Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the City's Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Enforce strict cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and government systems.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to city staff across various departments.
- Conduct regular system audits and software updates to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with vendors and external contractors to optimize infrastructure investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration or systems engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to critical network outages during emergencies.
