Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security protocols for federal information systems in compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond immediately to security incidents and breaches.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential weaknesses in the infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new security technologies.
- Prepare detailed reports on system security status and incident investigations for senior management.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members on security best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
- Five (5) or more years of experience in IT systems security, network administration, or cybersecurity.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC.
- Deep knowledge of federal security frameworks, including NIST 800-53 and FISMA.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
