Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist to join our critical infrastructure team in Los Angeles. This role focuses on maintaining state government systems and ensuring business continuity during the weekend shift.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting state agencies, ensuring system stability, and maintaining the highest standards of data security and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and system administration for critical government applications and networks.
- Monitor server health, performance, and security during off-hours and execute routine maintenance, patching, and backups.
- Investigate and resolve escalated IT incidents and service tickets escalated during the weekend shift.
- Ensure strict compliance with state security protocols, data privacy regulations, and IT governance policies.
- Collaborate with the on-call support team during emergency system outages or critical incidents.
- Document technical procedures, incident reports, and change logs accurately.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a government or highly regulated environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation may be required for on-site support.
