Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive state data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Configure and manage server environments, including Windows Server and virtualization platforms.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support and training to government staff regarding IT policies and software usage.
- Collaborate with vendors to procure hardware, software, and IT services, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Document IT processes, system configurations, and change logs for compliance and auditing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and TCP/IP networking.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
