Responsibilities
- System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor server performance and network traffic during off-peak hours to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Incident Management: Respond to and resolve critical system alerts and outages that occur outside of standard business hours.
- Security Compliance: Enforce government security protocols, patch management, and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive data.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of system changes, incidents, and maintenance activities in compliance with ITIL standards.
- Hardware & Software Support: Configure and troubleshoot hardware and software applications for internal government stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with day-shift teams to transfer knowledge and ensure seamless continuity of operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent military experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or technical support.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, SQL, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work the specified night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is a plus.
