Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail & Packages: Safely and efficiently sort and deliver mail to residential and business customers on assigned routes throughout Los Angeles.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate postal vehicles or walk routes depending on assignment, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with the public, answer questions, and handle incoming mail with care and accuracy.
- Physical Stamina: Lift heavy packages (up to 70 lbs), stand for long periods, and navigate various terrains and weather conditions.
- Mail Handling: Sort incoming mail and packages efficiently to ensure timely distribution to the correct destinations.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen or eligible alien.
- Driver's License: A valid state driver's license is required for most carrier positions.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift packages, stand for extended periods, and walk up to 10 miles per day.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
