Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort incoming and outgoing mail by size, shape, and zip code using automated and manual equipment.
- Load and Unload: Load and unload mail onto trucks, trailers, and aircraft in all weather conditions.
- Operate Machinery: Safely operate mail processing machinery, including canceling machines and optical character readers (OCRs).
- Physical Stamina: Perform physical tasks including lifting heavy parcels, standing for long periods, and walking throughout the facility.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and workplace protocols to maintain a secure environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and report any discrepancies in mail volume or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with supervisors and fellow employees to ensure team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident with a valid ID.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Communication: Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Driving: Valid driver's license is preferred but not always required for this specific role.
