Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including street sweepers, dump trucks, and jackhammers, following all safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain proper levels of water, sewage, and storm drainage systems to prevent flooding and hazards.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and inspectors to identify and resolve infrastructure issues efficiently.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during severe weather or service disruptions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment yard.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal government safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but not always required for entry-level.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Experience with power tools, landscaping equipment, or heavy machinery is highly preferred.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
