Responsibilities
- Perform daily street sweeping, trash collection, and debris removal on assigned municipal routes.
- Maintain and repair public facilities, park equipment, and municipal infrastructure such as signs and benches.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, street sweepers, and jackhammers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Inspect city properties to identify maintenance needs, report hazards, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Adhere to strict schedules and shift patterns to ensure continuous operational efficiency.
- Interact professionally with the public, answering inquiries and resolving service issues.
- Complete all required safety training and documentation accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and operating heavy equipment.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, landscaping equipment, or vehicle maintenance is highly preferred.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Experience in public works, sanitation, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
