Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on municipal facilities including parks, sidewalks, and public buildings
- Operate specialized equipment such as street sweepers, snow removal machinery, and hand tools
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure issues to the maintenance supervisor
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Provide responsive customer service to address community concerns
- Adhere to all city safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or construction
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends/holidays
