Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city buildings, parks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment including snow plows, street sweepers, and landscaping tools
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms and weather events
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure concerns
- Collaborate with other departments on special projects and community events
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
- Adhere to all city safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years of facilities maintenance or construction experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems
