Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public facilities, playgrounds, and urban infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment including sweepers, mowers, and specialized maintenance vehicles
- Implement sustainable landscaping practices in city parks and greenbelts
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather
- Conduct safety inspections and report hazardous conditions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on city improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in maintenance or construction
- Valid Washington State Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Certification in equipment operation (OSHA 10 preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in variable weather conditions
- Experience with sustainable landscaping practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
