Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city facilities, parks, and public spaces
- Operate heavy machinery including mowers, tractors, and snow removal equipment
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Document maintenance activities and prepare detailed reports
- Assist in community beautification initiatives and special events setup
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in facilities maintenance or public works
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
