Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform routine and emergency maintenance on city facilities, streets, alleys, and public right-of-way infrastructure.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery and hand tools, including backhoes, dump trucks, skid steers, and jackhammers, in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Utility Management: Assist in the installation, repair, and inspection of underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, and storm drains.
- Grounds Keeping: Maintain public parks, medians, and green spaces, including trash removal, graffiti abatement, and vegetation control.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic control procedures, and environmental regulations during all job tasks.
- Customer Service: Interact with residents and other city departments professionally to address inquiries regarding municipal services.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Technical or Vocational training in a related trade is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
- License: Valid Oklahoma Class C Driver’s License required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), working in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
- Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, basic math, and using hand and power tools.
