Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of public facilities, parks, and grounds.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and jackhammers, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of street signs, traffic signals, and public lighting.
- Monitor and maintain stormwater drainage systems to prevent flooding in residential and commercial areas.
- Collect and dispose of municipal solid waste and recyclables according to Department of Transportation guidelines.
- Respond to emergency service requests and perform snow and ice removal during adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Class E Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or general maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
