Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment including tractors, mowers, and power tools safely
- Inspect and repair damaged public property (fences, benches, signage)
- Ensure compliance with municipal safety regulations and environmental standards
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during extreme weather events
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or OSHA safety training preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening as required
