Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and park facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy and light equipment, such as trucks, tractors, and landscaping machinery, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Sweep streets, clear debris, and manage drainage systems to ensure public safety and environmental compliance.
- Conduct regular inspections of city properties to identify maintenance needs and report deficiencies to supervisors.
- Assist in the maintenance of parks, playgrounds, and recreational areas, ensuring they are welcoming and safe for the community.
- Follow all local, state, and federal safety regulations and city policies during all operations.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments and community members to address public service needs effectively.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and landscaping equipment operations is preferred.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
