Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage infrastructure.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, backhoes, and pavement breakers, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public complaints regarding utility or road issues.
- Assist with snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized work site and perform minor construction tasks as directed.
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities to identify potential safety hazards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school experience is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general construction, landscaping, or public works maintenance.
- Valid Class C Missouri Driverβs License (CDL Class A or B preferred).
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow complex instructions.
- Must pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screening.
