Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair of streets, alleys, sidewalks, and traffic control devices.
- Operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, loaders, and snowplows during inclement weather.
- Inspect public facilities and parks to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Respond to and resolve emergency public service requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards and city regulations.
- Assist with seasonal projects including leaf collection, mulching, and park beautification.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or public works.
- Ability to pass a post-offer medical examination, including drug screening and physical agility test.
- Physical stamina to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
