Responsibilities
- Perform skilled and unskilled labor in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, and public rights-of-way.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and snowplows, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events to ensure public safety.
- Inspect infrastructure for defects, potholes, or hazards and report findings to supervisors.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order, performing minor repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with other municipal crews to ensure efficient project completion and workflow.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License (Class C) with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screen.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to public service.
