Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of municipal construction projects, from initial planning and budgeting to final inspection and closeout.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate communication between the Department of Public Works, external contractors, city officials, and community groups.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work strictly adheres to NYC Building Codes, OSHA safety regulations, and municipal procurement policies.
- Resource Management: Monitor project timelines, allocate resources efficiently, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
- Financial Administration: Prepare detailed reports, manage change orders, and oversee contract payments to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to guarantee high-quality workmanship and adherence to design specifications.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New York is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in municipal project management or civil engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and CAD tools.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of NYC Department of Buildings regulations, Public Works standards, and local zoning laws.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
