Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, and water systems.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee contractors to ensure compliance with city codes and engineering standards.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, cost estimates, and project schedules using advanced CAD and BIM software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address community concerns and optimize project outcomes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges.
- Manage project budgets and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and at least 5 years of progressive experience in municipal or civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software.
- Strong knowledge of California State and San Jose municipal codes and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on public engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
