Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal infrastructure, including street lighting, signs, and traffic control devices.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as dump trucks, backhoes, and snow removal machinery.
- Assist in the maintenance of parks, drainage systems, and public buildings to ensure community safety and aesthetics.
- Inspect work sites for compliance with safety regulations and city codes.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and assist in disaster recovery efforts as needed.
- Collaborate with other city departments to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Proven experience in general maintenance, construction, or municipal work is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
